The application is downloaded as a .exe file which includes:

  • a Libs folder containing needed library files

  • a batch file which installs the library files

  • a PDF User Guide for the app

  • an HTML ReadMe file with additional information

To import the PI Vision App

  1. In Windows Explorer, double click the AVEVA OMI App for PI Vision.exe file to extract its contents. Select a destination folder that is accessible from the System Platform IDE.

  2. In the System Platform IDE, from the Home ribbon, select Galaxy, then Import.

  3. Select Objects, then From package.

  4. Browse to the location of the .aaPKG file, select the file, and select Open.

  5. On the Import preferences dialog box, leave the default selections and select Import.

This imports the app at the root level of the Visualization folder. You can drag it to any desired location in the Visualization folder.

To copy the required .dll file

Perform the following steps on each platform that will host an OMI ViewApp containing the PI Vision App:

    1. Copy the Libs folder and the InstallSharedLibs-RunAsAdmin.bat file hat were extracted from AVEVA OMI App for PI Vision.exe to the platform.

    2. In Windows Explorer, right-click InstallSharedLibs-RunAsAdmin.bat and select Run as Administrator.

The batch file copies the .dll file from Libs to the proper folder location.
