Embed a widget in an Industrial Graphic

You can use widgets in other AVEVA web-enabled products by first embedding the widget in an Industrial Graphic. The following list shows other AVEVA products that can support web-enabled widgets embedded into Industrial Graphics:

• AVEVA OMI

  Note: AVEVA OMI ViewApps can support widgets embedded within Industrial Graphics. However, if you are using an on-premises ViewApp, you are advised to continue using AVEVA OMI apps instead.

• AVEVA InTouch HMI

• AVEVA Citect SCADA

• AVEVA OASyS SCADA

• AVEVA Insight

To embed a widget in an Industrial Graphic

1. Within the integrated development environment, create a new graphic, or edit an existing one.

   The graphic opens in the Industrial Graphics Editor.

2. Select the Toolbox tab, and select the Widgets folder to show the set of available widgets. Widget thumbnails appear near the bottom of the Toolbox area.

3. Drag and drop the widget you want to embed within the graphic you created or opened.

4. With the embedded widget selected, view the Properties area to show the list of its properties.

   

5. Configure the properties as needed, and save your work.

   Note: A widget used within a graphic in the OMI Web Client is always positioned at the top of the element stack. Therefore, any graphic element drawn over the widget will be positioned behind the widget. The widget layer can also contain common controls such as a radio button group or a checkbox.
