Note: The AVEVA OMI App for Power BI requires an AVEVA Flex license. It is not included in the product installation. If you have a Flex license, you can follow the instructions in How to download an app to download the application.
Microsoft® Power BI is a suite of software services, apps, and connectors that aggregate unrelated sources of data to produce business analytic reports that appear in a web dashboard. Power BI bases a report on a single dataset.
Power BI designers create graphic representations of selected data shown on the dashboard based on a set of integrated filters. Power BI graphic visuals are dynamic and update as the underlying data changes or different runtime filters are applied.
The AVEVA™ OMI App for Microsoft Power BI enables a Power BI report to be shown within a layout pane of a running ViewApp. Hereafter, the AVEVA™ OMI App for Microsoft Power BI is referred to as the Power BI App.

Power BI App properties can be configured to show an assigned default page of a Power BI report or show a report from the selected node of the ViewApp shown in the navigation pane on the left. Also, a Power BI App property can be set to show or hide the Filter area on the right.
The Power BI App also provides scripting capability to filter report data from a range of data or by date and time.
Using the AuthenticationProviders security mode
A new authentication mode, AuthenticationProviders, has been added in System Platform 2023. App developers can override this setting to allow multiple authentication modes for their custom apps. However, the authentication mode must be explicitly set for the app. See WebControls SDK in the OMI SDK Help for more information.
When AuthenticationProviders security mode in implemented, the Power BI App does not necessarily follow the security mode implemented by the ViewApp, which uses the security mode set in the System Platform IDE. As a result, users may see their Azure AD credential shown in the pane that contains the Power BI App, but their Kerberos credentials will be shown for the ViewApp logged-in user.
