Configure Power BI App properties

Power BI App properties can be shown in the Layout or ViewApp editors by placing the Power BI App on a layout pane. After selecting the app on a pane, its properties appear on the Properties page by functional groups.

To assign values to the Power BI App properties, you will need the following:

• Name of the security credential created for the Power BI report

• Workspace ID created when publishing a Power BI report

• Report ID created when publishing a Power BI report

If any property is assigned an invalid value, an error message appears when the Power BI App initially loads at runtime.

To configure Power BI App properties

1. Open the Layout or ViewApp Editor and select the Toolbox tab.

2. Open the folder in the Toolbox where the Power BI app was placed when it was imported.

3. Select the Power BI App.

4. Drag and drop the Power BI App thumbnail onto a layout pane.

5. Select the Power BI App thumbnail and select the Properties tab.

   The Properties tab shows the properties of the Power BI App. The following screen capture shows the default values assigned to Power BI App properties.
