About the Layout Editor and navigation

The following figure shows the major components and pane properties of the Layout Editor to configure navigation for a ViewApp.

Numbar 1 - dark blue

Actions List

Show navigation actions list associated with content added to the panes of a layout.

Number 2 - dark blue

Actions

Navigation action of a piece of content added to a pane.

Navigation Control

Navigation tree control that shows the ViewApp's navigation model. During runtime, users can select a navigation item from the navigation control to show content.

Number 4- dark blue

Use For Auto-Fill

Although not shown in this graphic of the Layout Editor, the Use For Auto-Fill property determines if the pane can be filled with content automatically by Auto-Fill mode or not. Auto-Fill modes are selected from the ViewApp Editor.

Number 5 - dark blue

Enable Hierarchy Navigation

Enables hierarchical navigation from the current context to show other content within a multi-content pane or neighboring navigation items by means of a vertical swipe gesture or by clicking on navigation buttons shown on the pane when ShowNavigationButtons property is set to true.

Number 6 - dark blue

Show Navigation Buttons

When set to true, shows graphic buttons on the pane to make a hierarchical or context navigation action while a ViewApp is running.
