Apply log in security

You can use log in security to ensure that only authorized users can access a ViewApp. When security is enabled, operators and other users must authenticate themselves with their username and password.

Note: The Login dialog contains a Change Password button, which is active only if OS User or OS Group security is configured for the galaxy. The button is disabled if Galaxy-based security is configured.

Typically, an operator is presented with a button they must click to show the Login dialog box.

After a user logs in, they are allowed to perform Operate-Level writes, and any actions granted to them in the IDE. For additional information, see Security model for galaxies.
