Create user credentials

If one or more of your map providers require a user name and password to access their data, you must use the IDE to create a user credential for each map provider. When a user logs into a ViewApp, they can see a map layer only if they belong to a user group which has had a credential assigned for that provider. Layers which use a provider that needs a credential are hidden if the user does not belong to a group which has had the credential assigned to it.

Important: Some map providers do not require user credentials. In that case, you do not need to create credentials to use with the MapApp.
