Visual Query is an interactive method of querying specific criteria in your 3D models to quickly identify related tags within the context of the entire model. CONNECT visualization retrieves queries from Asset Information Management Advanced (AIM-A), which are created by users with administrative access in AVEVA AIM Dashboard. More information on creating queries can be found in the AVEVA AIM documentation.
To get started with Visual Query, load a 3D model and select the Properties button to open the Properties pane.

Enter a query
Visual Query retrieves queries from AIM-A. In the Visual Query field, you can begin typing the name of a query to help filter when you have many queries. Select a query from the list.

CONNECT visualization will return any criteria in the model that match the terms of the search.

Filter tags and modify display options
From the search results, you can select specific criteria to enable or disable highlighting them on the 3D model.
To change the color of the highlighting, select the arrow icon
to the right of the criteria name and choose a new color from the color picker. You
can also adjust the transparency of the selected color.
Note that any changes to the color or transparency are not saved back to the model.

Choose a display mode
By default, tags identified in the search process are highlighted on the full model using the selected colors. You can better view the returned tags using either of the following display modes:
-
Isolate - Hides all 3D components not returned in the query from view.
-
X-ray - Makes all 3D components not returned in the query transparent.

You can restore the model by selecting Show All from the Display Mode menu.
