Use this content item to chart a series of contiguous utilization states for multiple assets.

Horizontal column chart that shows multiple assets with a utilization timeline

The properties for this content item are:

  • In the Basic tab:

    • Follow time context - When this is enabled:

      • If this content is in a visualization, it uses the visualization's time context as the time range for the data it displays. For details, see Create a new visualization.

      • If this content is in an experience, it uses the time selected in the time selector content item as the time range for the data it displays. For details, see Add a time selector.

    • Time - If Follow time context is disabled, select the time range for the data displayed in the content item.

    • Asset - Select the assets to display. To show data, the selected assets must track equipment performance.

You can search for assets by name, by filter, or both.

      • To search by asset name, enter a value in the Asset field.

      • To apply filters, select the Asset field, then select Filter icon to view and select filters. Select Back icon to accept your selected filters and return to the previous search panel.

      • To add a single asset, select that asset's name. To add multiple assets, check the box for each asset, then select Select.

  • In the Advanced tab:

    • Title - The title that displays for this content item. This property is only available in grid visualizations; content items do not display titles in canvas visualizations or experiences.

See information about an event

  • Hover over an event to see information about it. The pop-up window displays the name of the asset, utilization state type and reason, as well as the start time and duration of the event.

Note: The utilization timeline separates individual events with a thin white line so that consecutive events with the same color are distinguishable. If the time period being displayed is large and each event durations are short, some events and the separating white lines may not be displayed.

    No data representation

Within the utilization timeline, event blocks with no data appear as a empty box with borders.

The assets are shown in the chart in the same order as they are in the list. Newly selected asset is added to the end of the list.

View utilization event details

You can view details of a utilization event in a grid.

Note: If the selected time period returns 2,000 or more records, the utilization timeline chart does not plot any data, and a message appears on the content item. Select the View Grid View Grid icon icon to see all utilization events in the grid. However, if you are using a Canvas visualization type, it does not support the View Grid option.

To view utilization event details

  1. In the event timeline chart, select an event block. The View Grid View Grid icon icon appears above the chart on the left. When you deselect the event block, the icon disappears.

  2. Select the View Grid View Grid icon icon to display the grid with all utilization events for the asset where the event block is selected.

By default, the content item locates the selected event in the grid and highlights it for visibility. You can use all supported grid features, such as exporting, filtering, and grouping, except for auto-refresh. For more details, see Grid .
