Select the pane you want to configure, then configure the properties as follows:

  • In the Basic tab:

    • Content types: A pane can automatically populate with a visualization based on the content type and the navigation item's asset reference. To populate this pane automatically, select the desired content types. The Use for auto fill property in the advanced tab must also be enabled (it is enabled by default). For more details, see Add content to panes in your navigation items.

    • Content fill: Select from the following:

      • Fixed: The content that is selected in this pane is the same throughout the experience. If you select this option, add content to the pane.

      • Autofill: Content autofills in this pane per the behavior selected in the navigation item's auto-fill settings.

    • Name: The name for the pane. This is not displayed to viewers. The name cannot include more than 32 characters and must be unique. It cannot include a space or special characters other than # or _.

If the name is invalid, it will be discarded and replaced with the previous name.

    • Background: The color of the background. Select to use the color picker, or enter the hex value for the color and desired opacity.

    • Padding: Enter the amount of padding in pixels on the right, left, top, and bottom of the pane.

    • Enable Hierarchy Navigation: Enable navigation of the experience hierarchy in this pane. If this is enabled, tab-style buttons appear at the top and bottom of this pane when a viewer runs the experience. Selecting the buttons navigates up and down through sibling navigation items in the hierarchy.

Note that though navigation is done in the pane, the viewer navigates between navigation items.

  • In the Advanced tab:

    • Height/Width: This property appears if the pane has been split. The Height property appears if the pane has been split horizontally, and the Width property appears if the the pane has been split vertically. Enter the size in pixels for the pane. The aspect ratio below adjusts automatically to reflect the dimensions you enter.

    • Width Sizing/Height Sizing: Select whether sizing is fixed, or if it adjusts automatically based on the pane contents.

    • Hide Column When Empty: If this is enabled, the pane's containing column will be hidden if all panes in the column are empty at runtime.

    • Hide Row When Empty: If this is enabled, the pane's containing row will be hidden if all panes in the row are empty at runtime.

    • Display mode: The method for resizing content when a viewer changes the size of a pane during runtime.

    • Content alignment: How content is aligned in the pane.

    • Interaction mode: Leave this at the default None. The Pan and Zoom option is not supported.
