OEE KPI trend

  • Last UpdatedSep 11, 2025

Use this content item to view and analyze the detailed efficiency events that support OEE KPI types for a single asset. This content item displays summarized KPI values across the time period.

Column chart that shows asset information

The properties for this content item are:

  • In the Basic tab:

    • Follow asset context - When this is enabled:

    • Asset - If Follow asset context is disabled, select the asset to display in this content item. The selected asset must track equipment performance and OEE to display in the chart.

You can search for assets by name, by filter, or both.

      • To search by asset name, enter a value in the Asset field.

      • To apply filters, select the Asset field, then select Filter icon to view and select filters. Select Back icon to accept your selected filters and return to the previous search panel.

      • Select an asset from the search results to add it.

    • Follow time context - When this is enabled:

      • If this content is in a visualization, it uses the visualization's time context as the time range for the data it displays. For details, see Create a new visualization.

      • If this content is in an experience, it uses the time selected in the time selector content item as the time range for the data it displays. For details, see Add a time selector.

    • Time - If Follow time context is disabled, select the time range for the data displayed in the content item.

  • In the Advanced tab:

    • Title - The title that displays for this content item. This property is only available in grid visualizations; content items do not display titles in canvas visualizations or experiences.

    • OEE KPIs - The Overall Equipment Effectiveness KPI type to chart.

For information on how each KPI is calculated, see KPI calculation details.

    • OEE KPI Target Value - The target value for the selected KPI. This property defaults to the value defined in the MES asset-level hierarchy but is modifiable. It accepts numeric values greater than 0 and up to 100, including decimal numbers. If the MES database value is 0 or null, the target value defaults to 80.

If you provide a custom target value, it's retained even if you change the OEE KPI type. This means all OEE KPI types use the custom target value. When you specify a custom target value, the content item no longer retrieves the target value from the MES database, unless you change the asset.

The target indicator appears as a black or white line (depending on the theme) next to the target percentage value and spans the chart.

Note: If the OEE percentage value exceeds 100 or 120, the top limit of the y-axis is set to 120.

The bar is shown in blue when its OEE KPI value is equal to or greater than the target value. It's shown in red when its OEE KPI value is less than the target value.

Bar chart data representation

The bar chart displays summarized data based on the following conditions. The labels for the x-axis and y-axis are dynamic and change according to the available space.

It displays a maximum of 24 bars for each hour, after which it adjusts based on the available space as per the described conditions.

Note: The listed conditions also apply to the bar chart data for Utilization & Production trend.

If the data time duration is:

  • Within or equal to a day, each bar corresponds to an hour of data.

  • Greater than a day and less than or equal to 2 days, each bar corresponds to 2 hours of data.

  • Greater than 2 days and less than or equal to 3 days, each bar corresponds to 3 hours of data.

  • Greater than 3 days and less than or equal to 4 days, each bar corresponds to 4 hours of data.

  • Greater than 4 days and less than or equal to 5 days, each bar corresponds to 5 hours of data.

  • Greater than 5 days and less than or equal to 6 days, each bar corresponds to 6 hours of data.

  • Greater than 6 days and less than or equal to 7 days, each bar corresponds to 7 hours of data.

  • Greater than 7 days and less than or equal to 31 days, each bar corresponds to a day of data.

  • Greater than 31 days and less than or equal to 180 days, each bar corresponds to a week of data.

  • Greater than 180 days, each bar corresponds to a month of data.

View the job hourly details

You can view the OEE KPI trend's job hourly data in a grid.

  • In the OEE KPI trend chart, select the View Grid View Grid icon icon above the chart on the left. The grid displays job hourly data for the selected asset.

You can use all supported grid features, such as exporting, filtering, and grouping, except for auto-refresh. For more details, see Grid .

Note: If you are using a Canvas visualization type, it does not support the View Grid option.
