CONNECT visualization

Search for assets, data, or visualizations

  • Last UpdatedSep 11, 2025
  • 2 minute read

To search for assets, data, or visualizations, select the search button Search button icon from the application bar, or select the search box on the default home page.

Note: The search box does not appear on the home page if the home page has been customized.

Search dialog

You can search by name, by filter, or both.

CONNECT visualization search supports the following search operators:

  • Use double quotation marks around an item to force an exact-match search.

    "search term"

  • Use OR in your search to return results for either provided term.

    item1 OR item2

Note the following about searching:

  • The number of search results returned and the count listed in the filter panel may be inconsistent. This occurs when there are too many results. When you select a filter, the number of results for that filter updates to the correct number.

  • For asset metadata results, the name of the asset is appended before the asset metadata. For example, if the asset metadata is "deployment date", it displays as "SpringfieldTurbine001.deployment date", "GreenHillsTurbine001.deployment date", etc..

Interact with search results

The options for interacting with search results vary depending on the item type:

  • Assets:

    • Select one asset to view its details on the asset details page.

    • Select multiple assets, then select Display List to open the Asset List page with your selected items.

  • Streams, Asset Stream Ref, and Asset Metadata: Select one or more items, then select Create new to create a visualization with those items.

  • Saved Visualizations: Select a visualization to open it.

If Asset Information Management Advanced (AIM-A) integration is enabled, the following additional types are available:

  • 3D Models, Tags, and Documents: Select a tag or document to view it.
