2024 Releases

The CONNECT visualization release notes are arranged in order from the most recent release, and they correspond to the month and year the enhancements and known and fixed issues (where applicable) were made available in the product.

Note: The Fixed Issues included in the Release Notes are a list of the highest-priority defects reported by our customers and are not an exhaustive list of all fixes included in the release.

December 2024

The following release information is provided for this release of CONNECT visualization.

Features

• Show Pareto line: You can now display a Pareto line in the Utilization Summary content. For more information, see Utilization summary.

• Industrial AI Assistant: You can now download a conversation with the Industrial AI Assistant as an HTML file. See Download a conversation.

• Grid (preview): The Grid widget under the Asset Efficiency content category is available to a limited set of customers. It supports up to 5,000 records. Its documentation and sections on viewing data in the grid from the Multi-asset utilization timeline, OEE KPI trend, and Production summary widgets are for information purposes only. For more details, see Grid .

November 2024

The following release information is provided for this release of CONNECT visualization.

Features

• Future time for charts: You can now input future dates and times in all charts that support time ranges. Panning and sliding to select a future time is not yet supported for all charts, but is planned for a future release.

October 2024 Release 2

The following release information is provided for this release of CONNECT visualization.

Features

• Power BI content item: A new content item, "Power BI", is added. This content displays a report from the Microsoft Power BI service. This is added in a new category of content, "Other."

October 2024 Release 1

The following release information is provided for this release of CONNECT visualization.

Features

• Event Visualization content category: A new option, "Most Recent", is added to the Aggregation Type property for the Card and Gauge widgets. When you select this option, it returns the most recent event based on the start time of a selected field within the filter window, regardless of the event's state.

September 2024

The following release information is provided for this release of CONNECT visualization.

Features

• Custom home page: You can now set any dashboard as your default home page. Administrators also have the ability to set a default home page for all users, ensuring a consistent experience across the team.

• Capture content image on save: Content images are captured automatically when saving, storing them via the file storage API. These images will now display on content and dashboard cards.

• Industrial AI Assistant chat history (preview): Conversations with the Industrial AI Assistant are now retained for up to 30 days. This allows you to resume an earlier conversation at the point where you last left off. For more information, see Access previous conversations.

• Configure the Industrial AI Assistant (preview): Administrators now have the ability to enable or disable the Industrial AI Assistant and the types of data sources it can access. For more information, see Configure the Industrial AI Assistant.

• Asset metadata: The attributes card now displays available asset metadata. For more information on cards and the asset page, see Work with assets on the asset page.

August 2024 Release 2

The following release information is provided for this release of CONNECT visualization.

Features

• Event visualization content category: Event Visualization content allows you to display generic event data for a single asset using asset-supported type widgets. For more information, see Event Visualization content category.

• Favorites button: Added a new button on the home screen, and content page, enabling you to easily filter and access your favorite content.

August 2024 Release 1

Features

• KPI target line: You can now view a KPI target line for OEE KPIs. For more information, see OEE KPI.

• Industrial AI Assistant (preview): Industrial AI Assistant is available to a limited set of customers. For more information about Industrial AI Assistant and its availability, please contact your customer sales representative, and watch these release notes for an announcement of its general availability. July 2024

The following release information is provided for this release of CONNECT visualization.

Features

The following new and enhanced functionality is delivered as part of this release.

• Search bar placement: The search bar on the Content page is now left-aligned.

• Content and Dashboard error messages: You will now see an error message if you do not have access to a Content page or Dashboard. The message will instruct you to contact your administrator.

• Asset Efficiency content category: The asset efficiency contents are updated to enhance how users display performance metrics. Select contents now enable users to specify chart orientation and toggle labeling, legends, and inclusion of all products for some chart value calculation. For more information, see Asset Efficiency visual type.

• Data Type Asset filters: You can now filter Assets by Data Type. For more on filters and searches read Search for assets, data, or content.

June 2024

The following release information is provided for this release of CONNECT visualization.

Features

• URL sharing: Added a button to share the current URL. This button appears in Content and Dashboards after saving.

• Content selection overlay: You can now create new content using the Add button on the content list page or by selecting Create. For more information, see Create content.

• Quick filter chips: You can now filter by 'All' and 'Created by me' for easier navigation through your content.

• Additional details in document viewer: While in the document viewer, you can now select the details icon to access additional information such as attributes, relationships, and contents. You can also select a tag within the document to view information on that tag. For more information on the document viewer, see Document Viewer.

• Shared entity selector: You can now create a dashboard with entity selection, enabling users to change the associated asset and update content widgets live without editing and saving the dashboard. For more information, read Configure a dashboard to allow live entity selection.

May 2024

Features

The following new and enhanced functionality is delivered as part of this release.

• Asset Efficiency content category: Asset Efficiency content for viewing performance metrics allow you to display utilization timelines, OEE KPIs, production summaries, and utilization summaries for one more assets. For more information, see Asset Efficiency content category.

• Markup for engineering documents: Markup allows users to save document annotations as a layer that can be toggled on or off. For more information, see Use Markup on a document.

• Asset and information browser: The asset and information browser allows you to browse engineering assets in a tree-based hierarchical view. For more information, see Browse asset information in the plant breakdown.

• Change dashboard entity during runtime: You can configure content on dashboards to allow for changes to the selected entity without having to edit and save the dashboard. For more information, see Configure a dashboard to allow live entity selection.

• Canvas Mode: When creating a dashboard in Canvas Mode, users can freely place content anywhere on the canvas, with the option for overlapping content, providing greater flexibility and customization.

The following new and enhanced functionality is delivered as part of this release.

• Asset Efficiency content category widgets: Introducing the Multi-asset utilization timeline widget, which replaces the Utilization timeline for optimized functionality. All widget names have also been updated for improved user interface readability.

• Asset Efficiency content category - Downtime and Maintenance KPI types enhanced record query: The record retrieval for these KPI types is enhanced to filter only full utilization events and ignore ongoing first and last events, addressing the limitation of the AVEVA Data Hub regarding retrieving the first ongoing event for multiple assets simultaneously.

• Enhanced asset identification: Unique hash keys automatically appended to duplicate asset names within Data Hub namespaces, simplifying asset management and resolution. For more information, visit Manage duplicate asset names.

• Orphaned content management: Effortlessly handle orphaned content (content or dashboard with no asset association) by re-linking or deleting.
