Database Configuration

AVEVA Information Standards Manager uses a database to store its class libraries. The installation tool can be used to test the connection and user roles.
Notes: If you are upgrading from a previous version of AVEVA Information Standards Manager, the values provided in this configuration page must match those used for the initial install.
Use the following information to help you enter the correct details for the Database Configuration step:

SQL Server - Hostname for the machine where the SQL Server is hosted.

Database name - The name of the database.

Multiple organizations - Select this check box if you only want to see standards (Class Libraries) for your organizations, otherwise you will be able to see all standards (class libraries) regardless of organization.

Create or Update database with latest script: Select this check box to let the system update the database scripts for you. You can manually update the database script by clearing the selection for this check box. When this check box is cleared, both the Initialize and Update options appear disabled.

Database Server Credentials:
Initialize: This option is enabled only when you select the Create or Update database with latest script check box. Select this option if you wish to create a database.
Update: This option is enabled only when you select the Create or Update database with latest script check box. Select this option if you wish to update a database:
Current Version: Use this to select the currently installed version.
Notes: The updates are incremental. The dropdown lists only those releases for which there are database updates.
Target Version: This read-only field displays the version of the installer.
Use Windows credentials: Select this check box if you wish the system to use your Windows credentials. If you select this check box, the Server username and Server password field appear disabled.
Server username: If enabled, use this field to enter the username.
Note: The user should have dbcreator Server Role assigned.
Server password: If enabled, use this field to enter the password.
Recommendation: We need to maintain a separation of privileges between machine administrators and SQL server administrators.

ISM User Details:

Administrator - Used for operations and procedures that require a higher level of security clearance.

User - Used for all standard operations and procedures.
