AVEVA™ Information Standards Manager

Upgrading an Existing Installation

  • Last UpdatedFeb 15, 2024
  • 1 minute read

To upgrade AVEVA Information Standards Manager from a previous version:

  1. Upgrade the AVEVA Information Standards Manager database to the latest version.

  2. Complete the Installation Wizard, noting the following:

    • AVEVA Information Standards Manager can be extended with plugins that are not part of the latest installer. You must manage these plugins independently because they and released by AVEVA outside of the AVEVA Information Standards Manager release schedule.

    • When you install the latest version of AVEVA Information Standards Manager in the same folder location as that of a previous version, the existing plugin folders are replaced with their respective latest versions. However, when a plugin is no longer available for installation, the existing plugin is retained in the installation folder. If you are installing in a different folder location, you need to manually copy the plugins that are not part of the latest installer.

    • When you re-install AVEVA Information Standards Manager from the same user account, the last used configuration settings are pre-populated as suggestions.

Backing up an Existing Installation

Before performing a database upgrade, it is strongly recommended that you make a copy of the current database and ensure that the backed-up data is not affected by the new installation. In addition, you should install AVEVA Information Standards Manager in a new folder, therefore preventing the existing installation from being overridden.
