Allocate Attributes to Classes

There are two ways in which you can apply an attribute to a Class. You can manually allocate an attribute to a Class, which is described below, or a class can inherit all the attributes allocated to its parent class. The inherited Classes contain a green inward arrow sign on the icon. See Icon Annotations and the term Hierarchy in Key Concepts for information.

To allocate an attribute to a Class, ensure that you have the Creator or Author privilege and have the Standard locked for editing:

  1. In a Class that you want to allocate an Attribute, navigate to the Permissible Attributes tab.

  2. Click the Add button ().

  3. In the Add Permissible Attributes window, select the required attribute from the dropdown.

  4. To create the record and continue to create records, click Add. Alternatively, click Add and Close to add the record and close the window.
