Permissions for Descendants

To give the permissions for descendants, right-click a root folder or descendant folder and or Select the Permissions for Descendants option. In the Permissions for Descendant Folders and Shortcuts window, configure the permissions for the underlying sub-folders and shortcuts.
Note: Assign permissions again to those objects that are created within the folder after these permissions are set. Such objects will not inherit the permissions from their parent.
Descendant Folders Tab
Use the Permissions section to view the permissions for the current user. This works similar to Root or Parent Folder Properties. But, you cannot change the name of the folder.

To share a folder or assign permissions to other users:

In the Permissions section, click Add.

In the Add Permissions window, select a user name or user group from the dropdown. You may select more than one user name or user group at a time.

Click Select.

In the Permissions for <user or user group> section, select the Allow or Deny check boxes for the following actions if you have the appropriate privileges:

Read
-
Modify
-
Delete
-
Manage Permissions
-
Add Items
-
Remove Items
-
Change Parent
-

Click Save.
Descendant Shortcuts Tab
Use the Descendant Shortcuts tab to review the permissions for shortcuts contained within the root or parent folder.

To review or assign permissions to shortcuts contained within the folder:

In the Permissions section, select a user name or user group from the Group or User names list.

In the Permissions for <user or user group> section, select the Allow or Deny check boxes for the following actions if you have the appropriate privileges:

Read
-
Modify
-
Delete
-
Manage Permissions
-
Add Items
-
Remove Items
-
Change Parent
-

Click Save.
