Tag a Release

  • Last UpdatedFeb 15, 2024

To ensure that only the latest and updated Standard is used by others, you can tag a released Standard. When you tag a saved Standard as Released, you increment the major and minor release numbers. When you save a Standard, you increment the dotted release numbers for a major release.

To tag a validated Standard as Released, use the following procedure:

  1. Go to an Active Standard.

  2. Ensure that you do not have the Standard locked for editing. This will create a four digit revision number. Alternatively, click Unlock and Discard Changes.

Note: An unreleased Standard cannot be tagged.

  3. Click the Tag as Release () button.

  4. Enter the Major, Minor and Revision numbers, respectively. Ensure that you select an overall value higher than that of the current release or version.

  5. Click Release.

Note: As indicated in the screenshot, it is recommended that you validate a Standard before tagging it for release. For information, see Validating Standards.
