To ensure that only the latest and updated Standard is used by others, you can tag a released Standard. When you tag a saved Standard as Released, you increment the major and minor release numbers. When you save a Standard, you increment the dotted release numbers for a major release.
To tag a validated Standard as Released, use the following procedure:
-
Go to an Active Standard.
-
Ensure that you do not have the Standard locked for editing. This will create a four digit revision number. Alternatively, click Unlock and Discard Changes.
Note: An unreleased Standard cannot be tagged.
-
Click the Tag as Release (
) button.
-
Enter the Major, Minor and Revision numbers, respectively. Ensure that you select an overall value higher than that of the current release or version.
-
Click Release.

Note: As indicated in the screenshot, it is recommended that you validate a Standard before tagging it for release. For information, see Validating Standards.
