Open a custom course's primary Operator Training Simulator

In the custom course's main page, you can access its primary Operator Training Simulator (OTS).

Open a custom course's primary OTS

1. In My learning, select the custom course's tile.

   The custom course's page appears.

   

2. Select the Edit Primary OTS tile.

   The Edit Primary OTS section appears under the tile set.

   If the Administer OTS Simulation status displays Available, you can select the Administer OTS Simulation link.

   

   If the Administer OTS Simulation status displays In Use, the Administer OTS Simulation link is unavailable. This means another Administrator or Instructor currently has the session open. The platform allows only one user to access the primary OTS at any given time.

   

3. Select the Administer OTS Simulation link.

   The Administering OTS Exercise page appears and displays the primary OTS status, initially as starting.

   

4. After the primary OTS status displays running, which may take several minutes, select Open simulation in new tab.

   

   The session opens in a new tab on your browser and displays the session information and its current status in the middle of the screen.

   

5. In the session, select Click here to view your session after it appears under the current status.

   The session displays the primary OTS running in the AVEVA Dynamic Simulation environment.

   End Exercise and Upload Changes buttons appear in the upper-left corner of the session banner.

   After the timer on the session banner reaches zero, the platform ends the primary OTS. When 15 minutes remain in the session, a timer dialog appears where you can choose to extend the session.

   

   The Administrator OTS Simulation page refreshes and displays all of the primary OTS applinks.

   

6. (Optional) To make changes to the primary OTS in an Instructor station, on the Administrator OTS Simulation page, select the applicable Instructor Station applink.

   The Instructor Station opens in a new browser tab and starts the primary OTS.
