After you open the custom course's primary Operator Training Simulator (OTS) in the AVEVA Dynamic Simulation environment, you can then start to make changes to it.

See Open a custom course's primary Operator Training Simulator for more information on how to open a custom course's primary OTS.

Make changes to the primary OTS

  1. In the primary OTS, make changes as you desire, which can include the following:

    • Initial Conditions (ICs)

    • Scenarios

    • Malfunctions

    • Trainee Performance Monitoring (TPM) templates

After the timer on the session banner reaches zero, the platform ends the primary OTS. When 15 minutes remain in the session, a timer dialog appears where you can choose to extend the session.

Make changes to the primary OTS before its timer reaches zero.

  2. (Optional) Open the AVEVA Dynamic Simulation Help documentation by doing the following:

    1. In the primary OTS, select the Help tab.

In the primary OTS, select the Help tab. and then select Help to select a Help documentation.

    2. In the Help group, select Help.

A list that contains the AVEVA Dynamic Simulation Help documentation appears.

    3. In the list, select a Help documentation that you want to view.

The Help documentation opens in a new window.

Save your IC changes

  1. In the primary OTS, select the Express tab, and then select Save IC.

You can also select the Run tab, and then in the Snapshot group, select Save IC.

Select the Run tab, and then select Save IC to save your IC changes.

A Save Initial Conditions dialog appears.

  2. In the Save Initial Conditions dialog, do the following:

    1. In the Enter IC Number box, enter an IC number that is in the displayed Allowed IC Number Range.

You must save your primary OTS IC changes within the displayed Allowed IC Number Range so that they don't conflict with any changes made in a Personal Instructor Workspace. See Understand the Personal Instructor Workspace for more information.

The Allowed IC Number Range in the Save Initial Conditions dialog may be different than the one displayed in the previous figure and may change in later versions of AVEVA Unified Learning.

    2. In the Enter IC Description box, enter a description for the IC.

    3. In the Save Initial Conditions dialog, select Save.

The platform saves your IC changes.

The primary OTS changes the RUNNING label to IC SAVED and displays the IC properties you entered in the Save Initial Conditions dialog.

A IC SAVED label appears in the primary OTS, along with the properties you entered in the Save Initial Conditions dialog.

    Save your model changes

Important: Save your model changes by following this procedure before you upload your changes into the platform.

    • In the primary OTS, select the Express tab, and then select Save.

You can also select the File tab, and then in the Project group, select Save.

Select the File tab, and then select Save to save your model changes.
