Understand the Personal Instructor Workspace

On supported Instructor-led exercises, a Personal Instructor Workspace (PIW) is automatically provisioned when you create the initial scheduled Instructor-led session. The supported Operator Training Simulator (OTS) simulation saves all Instructor-related changes on the Instructor station of Instructor-led sessions, such as Initial Conditions (ICs), Scenarios, Malfunctions, Trends, and Trainee Performance Monitoring (TPM) results. The PIW persists from one session to the next.
To avoid data conflicts in the PIW by multiple Instructor-led sessions saving to the PIW at the same time, the save permission is active for only one session at a time. If an Instructor schedules multiple concurrent sessions, then the PIW is available on the first session started by the Instructor. The PIW is not available on subsequent sessions to be started until after the first session ends.
See Connect to and run a pre-scheduled Instructor-led OTS training session with multiple Trainees for more information on PIW configuration for a supported Instructor-led exercise.
Important: AVEVA Unified Learning may decide to upgrade the generic simulators' software version. This software version upgrade may have an impact on the stability and performance of the IC saved by the Instructor in their PIW. We recommend the Instructor review and eventually update their ICs after any software upgrade.
If your custom course simulation has the primary OTS functionality made available to you, any saved changes to the PIW must be within a certain IC range so that they don't conflict with any changes made in a custom course's primary OTS. See Make changes to the primary Operator Training Simulator for more information.
