Create tasks

Tasks are single observations or measurements for an asset. Tasks are added under task groups.

Create a task

  1. Select Browse from the navigation rail, then select Procedures.

  2. Select the checkbox for a procedure, then select the Edit icon.

  3. Highlight an item, click the vertical ellipsis icon next to the task group path, and select + Add Task.

  4. Complete the following fields:

    • Name – Enter a user-friendly name for the task.

    • Description – (Optional) Enter a short description of the task.

    • Select an Asset – (Optional) You may pick a sub-type (child) of the asset.

    • Choose a Data Type for the task from the dropdown list.

      • If you select Response List as your data type, select the associated Response List name.

      • You may also select Date, Number, or Text as your data type.

    • Select a Stream – (Optional) You may choose a stream from the list, which is filtered based on the data source and Data Type that you selected. If you select Response List as your data type, the Stream field will not be shown.

      Note:
      • You cannot create a task if the selected stream is not associated with the selected asset.

      • You cannot create a task if the selected data type (such as Number or Text) does not match the implicit data type of the chosen stream.

  5. Save the task.
