Export Model Differences File

Compares two different versions of a conceptual model and creates a file containing the differences.

Use the Model Differences Export Form window to define the conceptual model files for comparison.

Base Model

Specifies the base model for comparison.

Select a model from the drop-down list or use the Browse functionality to navigate to a location, and select the base model for comparison.

Swap

Swaps the values in the Base Model and Changed Model fields.

Changed Model

Specifies the changed model for comparison.

Select a model from the drop-down list or use the Browse functionality to navigate to a location, and select the model for comparison.

Alternatively, select Current Model from the drop-down list to select the current model for comparison.

Output file

Specifies the location and filename of the file which contains the model comparison results.

Use the Browse functionality to select a location, and export format for the file.

Format

Displays the export format of the file which contains the model comparison results.

Log File

Specifies the location and filename of the export log file.

Use the Browse functionality to select a location, and format for the log file.

The Create Model Differences Export File window displays the progress of the model comparison.

Click Show Details to expand the Create Model Differences Export File window which displays a summary of the export process.

Click Save Errors and Warnings to save the errors and warnings to a log file. Input a file name and define a location for the saved file. The file is saved to CSV format.

Click Hide Details to contract the Create Model Differences Export File window which removes the summary of the export process from the display.

Click Close to close the Create Model Differences Export File window.

Items which are found to have been deleted are recorded, and in the case of the TTL export format, are emitted as specialized comments in the model differences file. If the model differences file is imported into AVEVA Engineering, the deleted items can be flagged for deletion in the model. No other format (apart from TTL format) supports this functionality.
