Diagram View

Use the Diagram View to display the structure of a conceptual model, database definitions or contextual view.

Use the functionality available to navigate the structure, relationships between objects and their connections. Search and filter the objects shown, add, edit and connect objects and their properties.

The diagram displays the following classes and the parent/child relationships between them:

  • Active in build classes (blue)

  • Inactive in build classes (white)

  • Read only classes (grey)

A list of all the classes in the model are displayed in a list format on the top left hand side of the diagram.

To navigate to a selected class from the list in the diagram view, double click it or select it from the displayed model, once selected the Properties pane tracks the selection.

Note:
The properties pen does not display when viewing a contextual view.

Use the Vocabularies window to turn the display of each vocabulary and the class decoration on or off. By default, only active vocabularies are displayed. Functionality is available to:

  • View the active vocabularies. Refer to Home for further information.

  • View the class decoration. Classes can be decorated as:

    • F = Functional

    • S = Simulation

    • T = Typical

  • Validate the active vocabularies. Refer to Validate Vocabularies for further information.

  • Run model analysis. Refer to Run Analysis for further information.

    Note:
    The properties pen, validate active vocabularies and run model analysis options do not display when viewing a contextual view.
