Add CAD Overlay to Drawing

Adds a CAD image to a drawing as an overlay. For example a .DXF or .DWG format image. The CAD overlay can be positioned on the drawing canvas and used as a template which can be traced over with engineering symbols and objects.
On the Drawings tab, in the Insert group, click Image and select CAD from the drop-down menu to display the Open window.
Select the required CAD image from the window and click Open.
A progress bar displays which tracks the progress of the added CAD image.

The prompt Specify the insertion point or <Finish> is displayed.
A preview of the CAD image displays at the cursor.

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the location for the base point of the CAD image.
The CAD image is added to the drawing.
Press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.

Scale |
Specifies a scale for the CAD image. The prompt Specify X scale <1> is displayed. Input a value in the field and press Enter to define the scale factor for the X dimension. A value of less than 1 decreases the width of the CAD image. For example, to reduce the width of the CAD image by half, input 0.5 at the prompt. The prompt Specify Y scale <1> is displayed. Input a value in the field and press Enter to define the scale factor for the Y dimension. |

Rotation |
Specifies a rotation angle for the CAD image. The prompt Specify rotation angle or <#deg> is displayed. Input an angular value in the field and press Enter or click to identify the rotation angle. |

Finish |
Ends the command. |
The new CAD image overlay is added to the Drawings Explorer.

Overlays can be dragged and dropped from the Drawings Explorer onto the drawing canvas.
