Copy, Move and Assign Elements

One of the most important operations in the ACA is assignment. The user can assign:

  • Users to Teams,

  • Access Control Rights (ACRs) or ACR Groups to Users,

  • ACRs to ACR Groups,

  • Roles or Scopes to ACRs.

The easiest way to make an assignment is to click the source node inside a panel, drag it with the mouse and drop it onto the destination node in the other panel. This is where the concept of two identical panels is very helpful.

When the user drags-and-drops a Permissible Operations (Perop) onto another Role, the Perop is moved to the destination. To make a copy of the Perop, hold down the <CTRL> key while dragging and dropping.

When dragging a primary node to a destination node, (for instance, a Scope onto an ACR) the user makes an assignment. However, when the user drags a secondary node to a destination node, they are moving an already established assignment from one node to another.
