Create Assembly

Creates an assembly which is constructed using a set of individual symbol, drawing and annotation elements. The assembly is associated with a selected class.
Use the Create new assembly window to create an assembly.

Type a unique name for the assembly.
If the name is not unique, an error message displays summarizing the problem.

Use the Select class window to specify the class to associate with the assembly.

Search
Type a string to be searched in the Search field, matching content is displayed below the field.
Alternatively, navigate through the tree hierarchy and select a class.
Drag and drop existing symbols from the symbol palette, draw and annotate the assembly using the blank drawing canvas, the assembly is created as a member element of the currently selected symbol palette on the Setup Explorer. By default, the Graphical Canvas - Symbol Editor tab is displayed.
Use the Attributes window to define the associated connection point definitions for each symbol in the assembly.

The example displays an assembly named PC-Telephone Connection. The assembly contains three symbol elements with intelligent text and intelligent connection points.

A marker point can be added to an assembly to define the origin point of the assembly when placed onto the drawing canvas in the Engineer module.
