Calculation control

A calculation control automatically calculates values based on a specified range of cells in a H&MB list datasheet. Use a calculation control to perform calculations such as summation or multiplication and display the result in a designated cell.

Prerequisites

• The calculation control must reference a range of cells.

• If the calculation control is linked to a single component-area attribute, it might not function correctly and displays an informational message.

Configure a calculation control

To configure a calculation control, follow these steps:

1. Create a template.

2. Associate the calculation control with a range of cells.

   

3. Configure the required calculation type.

4. Select one of the following options from the Properties pane:

   • Summation

   • Multiplication

5. Create an instance for this template. The calculation control displays the result of prescribed operation (summation or multiplication) for the range of cells defined.

   

Calculation behavior

When you create an instance from the template, the calcalation control behaves as follows:

• The calculation control displays the calculated value for the configured cell range.

• The calculation result updates automatically when values in the selected range change.

• The calculation result updates automatically when chemical components change.
