Create Engineering Items on P&ID Diagram using Functional Item Grid

Use this procedure to create an ENGITE on a PID Diagram using the FUNITE grid.

Prerequisites

Before your begin, ensure you have:

• a FINITE grid open.

• a configured class and attribute mapping.

Procedure

1. Select the simulation data of the pump.

2. Drag and drop the pump data to the PID_01 tab.

   The engineering item is created and displayed on the drawing.

Once the data from the Functional item (PFD item) is propagated to Engineering item (P&ID Item), there could be changes from AVEVA E3D Design or from the vendor on any Engineering Item. The changed data is evaluated in Process simulation for design inconsistencies. Before data is sent to simulation, the data from the Engineering item to the Functional item is sent. The data is sent from the functional item simulation.

The application supports data propagation from Engineering items to associated parts of Functional items (PFD item) based on class and attribute mappings.
