Database Types

A project can contain the following types of database:

Administration Databases

  • The System database itself, which holds the access control data for the model data and modules.

  • The Comms database, which stores information about who is using which module and which model databases are available.

  • The Misc database which stores inter-user messages, and inter-database macros.

Model Databases

  • Catalogue databases which contains the project catalogue and specifications.

  • Config databases which contains the configuration data for different applications and stores it in a common place.

  • Dictionary databases which contains the definitions of User-Defined Attributes (UDAs), User Default Element Types (UDETs) and User System Defined Attributes (USDAs) as set up in the Lexicon application.

  • ISOD databases which contains the spool drawings produced by Spool.

  • Model databases which contains all the design information for the project.

  • PADD databases which contains data about drawings produced by Draft.

  • Properties databases which can contain material properties, and can be referenced by the catalogue.

  • Task databases which contains steel planning used for AVEVA E3D Structural Design.

Engineering Databases

  • ENGI databases which are used to store Engineering data.

  • RDFN database, which is used to store a conceptual model.

Diagrams Database

  • SCHE Schematics database.

Global databases (only visible when Global is in use)

  • TRANS Transaction database

Product Common databases

  • Cross Product (XPRD) databases which contains comments available to all products

The following are specific to Marine Projects

  • ALYS databases which stores hydrostatic calculations

  • MANU databases which contains detailed manufacturing data

  • NSEQ databases which stores name sequences

  • Shematic databases which contains P&ID (Schematic) information.

Each project can have only one of each type of administration database, but it can have any number of each type of model database.
