Move Symbols using Connection Points

  • Last UpdatedApr 08, 2024
  • 2 minute read

Moves symbols using connection points that display as grey circles.

To move a symbol, click the connection point and input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the new connection point location. All existing connections to the symbol are retained.

If a symbol is moved to a connection point on another symbol, a connection is made using an intelligent grip point, the moved symbol becomes a child of the target symbol.

When the parent symbol is selected, all grip points and connection points are displayed, the connection between the parent and child symbols is displayed as an intelligent grip point.

If the parent symbol is moved, the child symbol is also moved.

When the child symbol is selected, all grip points and connection points are displayed, the origin point of the child symbol is displayed as an intelligent grip point.

The child symbol moves independently of the parent symbol and the connection is removed.

Refer to Move Objects using Grip Points and Move Objects for further information.
