Cot

Cot is a built-in function that calculates the cotangent of an angle.

Syntax

Cot(numAngle)

Cot ( numAngle )

numAngle

The angle in radians.

Tip: 2π radians is the same as 360 degrees.

Returned value

This function returns the cotangent of the specified angle.

The function cannot return the actual cotangent of π (that is, Cot(Pi()) or equivalent), because that is infinite. Instead, the function returns the largest number possible, given the limited precision of the value returned by the function Pi.

Examples

Calculate the cotangent of 1 radian:

Cot(1)

Calculate the cotangent of π/2 radians:

Cot(Pi()/2)

Calculate the cotangent of the value of the project tag MyAngle:

Cot(MyAngle)
