A script (or script worksheet) is used to implement program logic that can be continuously executed during runtime, rather than on specific actions like the user pressing a button on a screen.
In addition to using the built-in language, you can create script worksheets to implement logic that runs at application startup or during the application runtime, either continuously or when enabled by a tag. AVEVA Edge hosts and implements the following programming languages:
Startup Script
There is one Startup Script for each programming language. Each Startup Script runs once when the application starts, and then again each time any scripting interface for that language is changed during runtime. See VBScript Startup Script and Python Startup Script for more information.
Script (Script worksheet, Script Group)
You can insert multiple Script worksheets for each programming language. Each one will execute when a condition is evaluated to be TRUE. See VBScript scripts (script groups) and Python scripts (script groups) for more information.
