Configure Microsoft Edge to view custom widgets

Microsoft Edge requires further configuration if you use custom widgets in your web thin client project.

If you are using custom widgets in your web thin client project and you are using Microsoft Edge as your browser, it will block the custom widgets unless you adjust the security settings.

Note: Adjusting the browser security settings can decrease your machine's data security and expose your machine to increased risks from attacks and malware. See online Microsoft documentation for more details. You can minimize risks by using a dedicated device to browse your web thin client project, which means that this device is not used to access any other webpages, especially those outside of your company. Consult your company's computer security department or guidelines before continuing.

To adjust security settings for Microsoft Edge to allow browsing custom widgets:

  1. Before performing any of these steps, follow the directions in Configure Microsoft Edge to allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode.

  2. In Microsoft Edge, open the Internet Properties dialog and select the Security tab. There is more than one way to open this dialog:

    • On the Settings menu, select the More Tools menu, then Internet Options.

    • On the Settings menu, select Settings, search for internet options, and open the Internet Options dialog listed under Internet Explorer compatibility.
