Create Secondary Shape by Name Change of an Inline Shape

  1. Drag and drop a symbol of a piping or valve inline component from a stencil onto the drawing canvas. The symbol will not be defined.

  2. Change the name of the undefined and unconnected symbol to the name of an existing item of the same type.

  3. The application prompts the user with a dialog box informing that the item already exists and asks if a secondary shape should be created:

    Click Yes and the shape will then refer to the existing item in the database, the name should be manually entered, and it will be made into a secondary shape.
