If using the Configuration Wizard for an Engineering database running a TMS project, two additional steps are provided, .

Override Destination Base Type Element

Use to override the destination element type based on a source attribute value, allowing the import of elements as a configured destination type based on the source attribute value. Thus enabling elements to be imported as configured destination type based in the source attribute value.

For example: if importing data from AVEVA Schematics and in base configuration Equipment is selected as destination element type.

Click Next to continue.

Use the functionality available from Step 3 of the Compare/Update Configuration Wizard to override the destination element type based on the selection.

Select the None radio button to import destination element types based on the base destination element type (this option is the default).

Select the Override destination element type based on class URI radio button to import destination elements types based on the class URI defined in the source application. This option is enabled only for elements from AVEVA P&ID and AVEVA Diagrams, as these applications can access the conceptual model to set class URIs. If a class URI is not found, the elements are imported with the base destination element type.

Select the Override destination element type based on Source Attribute radio button to import destination element types based on the source attribute value.

Note:
Update/Re import: None: updates matched records, Override destination element type based on class URL: Updates matched records, if class URL has changed, the product will reclassify as per class URL in the the source product and update attributes and Override destination element type based on Source Attribute: Updates the matched records, if a mapped source attribute value is changed, the product will reclassify the matched element and update the attribute.
This functionality is supported in group configuration and parent/child configuration.

Select the Source Attribute from the drop-down list and click Add mapping to add an empty attribute mapping row to the list. Populate the Source Attribute Value and Destination Element Type value. If any elements contain an unset attribute value, the elements are imported with the base destination element type.

Click Next to continue.

Mapping Counter Attributes

Use to override the counter for the tag by the attribute value from the source element (from the Schematic DB). This ensures that, when you import, Engineering uses the same counter in the tag name as is used in the source. Counter attributes can be text or numeric. When mapping counter attributes an extra step has been added to the Compare/Update Configuration Wizard.

Select the required Schematic Database Attribute.

Select the required Override Engineering Counter from the list of valid write attributes.

Note:
If the override type has the same write attribute as the mapped ones then the write attribute of the overridden type takes precedence.

Click Add Mapping, then click Finish, a confirmation window is displayed.

Click OK.

Once completed the counter mappings are displayed in the Configuration Summary window.

Compare/Update Results with Counter Override Mappings

There is no change in the way the compare results, counter information is displayed as V100 for existing tags and V101 for new tags.

Upon updating the selected element, it is created with the counter values against the valid write attributes.
