Copying Attributes Value with Copy with Shape and Session Defaults

When copying an element or a group of elements in a drawing, the related attribute value can be propagated in two different ways:

• The Copy with Shape functionality in Diagram Options > Attribute Presentation tab can be used to propagate attribute values from the source shapes to the copied shapes.

  

• In the Session Defaults function attributes can be given a default attribute value for the current session using the Default attributes tab as shown below.

  

By default, the Copy with shape option overrides the Default attributes value if both are used for the same attribute.

By default this option is false.

When performing a Copy/Paste operation the attribute value assigned to the copied element will be overridden by the session default attribute value even if the Copy with Shape option is checked in the Attribute Presentation window for the respective element type.
