DGN Import - Font Map Tab

DGN files (like DWG ) requires the presence of all the supporting files use in the creation of the drawings elements. The Supporting file should be manually placed in the "dgndata" folder which is available in installation directory.

The supporting file could include fonts definition, cell libraries, external reference files, line type definition, hatch patterns definitions .

Please refer to the guidelines supplied by Bentley regarding use and distribution of support files to with DGN base drawings.

This tab is used for font mapping and works very similar to the Lines Map settings. If you want to use other fonts than the ones that are pre-installed, the first step is to add the names of the fonts that should be added using the Definitions button.

You do not have to map TrueType fonts that are already installed, for example "Arial" to "Arial".

If the DGN contains font definitions that are not mapped, then the installed default fonts will be used.

The Definitions button opens a dialog where you can map the custom font names with windows fonts as shown below.
