Engineering Mapping

Prerequisites

Enabling the selection of item classification available at Engineering 15.x projects:

In order to load the Class Picker in Diagrams, you need to set one of the Engineering 15.1 or above projects (that has a conceptual model) as a reference to the Diagrams project using AVEVA Administration 1.6 using the following steps:

1. Login in to AVEVA Administration1.6.

2. Navigate to Databases and Extracts section.

   

3. Click on the Include button.

   

4. Click the Include button to load the Include Foreign Database window and select the Engineering 15.1 or above projects as reference.

   

5. The Foreign Projects dialog lists all the projects available in defaults projects location. Select the project which contains the conceptual model.

6. Enter Username and Password.

7. In the Foreign Databases dialog select the databases that contain the conceptual model information.

   

8. Click on the Apply button after selecting the databases. Click on the Cancel button to check for added projects in the Database & Extract menu item. The referred databases are displayed.

   

9. Navigate to the MDBs menu item and select any of the listed MDBs then click on the Modify button.

   

10. The Modify MulTiple Databases window is loaded.

    

11. Select the referred databases in Projects Databases and Database Sets view and click on the Down arrow button. This button adds the selected databases as reference in the Current Databases and Database Sets view. Click on Apply and then Cancel. The selected databases are added to the selected MDB.

    

12. Save work and launch the Diagrams application. Login with your user name and password and select the MDB that is the modified MDB in Admin. Now load and use the class picker in Diagrams.
