Formatting rules created in Shared Formatting Rules will be stored at project level instead of user level and will be accessible to all users.
To use Share Formatting Rules for all projects apply the following approach. This is only to be used for Share Formatting Rules and not for User Formatting Rules.
|
Prerequisites |
Proper read and write access should be given to the shared path. |
|
Steps |
Set the Environment variable as set AVEVA_Shared_Formatting_Rules= "shared path" in evars.init file. Example: set AVEVA_Shared_Formatting_Rules=\\inhyzd3151\ |

-
Create a new share rule. This will update the local project folder.
-
Manually copy the Autoformattingrules.xml and replace it in the shared path.
The rules in the shared path are set as environmental variables.
Note:
If the file is not available in the shared path the rules will not be defined in the
application.
If the environment variable is not set in evars.init the application works as before.
To switch from the Shared Formatting Rules to the User Formatting Rules function right-click on the Shared Formatting Rules and then click on User Rules from the context menu.
