Limitations of Visio Canvas

The grid in the drawing area will not be visible if you apply any background to it. It is default behavior inherited from the Visio canvas.

When applying background colour to a drawing area, you cannot apply the same background twice. A workaround will be to click the Colour button in the Insert tab rather than selecting it from the dropdown menu.

• Navigation through Visio Canvas:

If there are two diagrams connected through OPC connectors, and you try to navigate from one diagram to another through the OPC the diagram may freeze. This is existing behavior due to Visio canvas limitations.

The work around to this problem is to close and reopen the frozen document.

• Vertical Line Segment Breaking through Visio Canvas:

In some cases the line segment is not broken the second time if the line segment is placed exactly vertical.

The work around is to make line segment a little horizontal and placing the valves. After placing the valves the line can then be converted back as vertical.
