Cell Feedback Colors

The following conditions are indicate by different cell background colors:

  • The cell is read-only, and cannot be edited regardless of the current interaction mode.

  • The cell contents have been edited successfully.

  • An unsuccessful attempt has been made to edit the contents of the cell because the new value was invalid.

These are known as cell feedback colors. The default colors may be changed is required (see Set Cell Feedback Colors).

In the example below, the Type fields are read-only, the first Description field has been successfully edited, and an unsuccessful attempt to update the first Area field has been made.

The reason for the failure of an edit is displayed on a tool-tip when the mouse is hovered over the cell in question.

To clear all cells in the grid of successful edit and unsuccessful edit feedback colors, right-click and select the Reset Cell Feedback option from the menu.
