Adding Multi-valves to a Project

To add a multi-valve to any project, you need to have administrator rights to be able to first create the valve in AVEVA CATALOGUE.

  1. Login to the Aveva Catalog master DB (change mode to PIPING (select MASTER/PIPECATA in Catalogue Explorer (In Catalogue tab click on Create Catalogue.

  2. Once the catalogue is created, then you need to create a section under it by clicking on Section option on the Catalogue tab.

  3. Once a section is created, then you need to create a Category under it by clicking on the Category icon.

    Once the category is created the Model View is automatically opened.

  4. In the model view, required attributes like bore, distance, height etc are created under the Category reference and filled with values for each required valve.

  5. Once parameters are defined, then point sets need to be created under the Point Set reference.

  6. Once the point sets are added, the user needs to add Geometry References.

    By giving all required Geometry references like Axis, distance, height and diameter etc the required shape of the valve is acquired.

  7. After successful creation of Catalogues, you should create a new pipe specification or modify the existing specification to add newly created CATREF into it.

  8. You can create the Port valve using the Import as port valve option.

  9. A port valve in the diagram and the catalogue can be linked by providing SPREF in valve's attribute window.
