Rename Elements

To rename an element, select the element, right-click, and select the Rename option from the menu. The Name dialog is displayed.

Enter the new name of the element and click Apply. Refer to Plant DESIGN module or Marine Hull and Outfitting module documentation for additional details of this dialog.

Enter the name of the new element. The following characters are not permitted in the name of an element:

$ @ * ' '

A name may be a maximum of 50 characters.

It is not recommended that SCDIAG elements are renamed once loaded as it will affect the ability of Schematic Model Manager to maintain the data associated with the diagram. Rather than rename a diagram, it may be better to delete the diagram element and its related elements from the database and re-import the diagram with the new name.
