Foxboro DCS tags are created by using a UNIT or Transfer name to create a COMPOUND name, and a PHASE name to create a BLOCK name. The Foxboro DCS PARAMETER is created by an automatic process that determines if the Model tag is a Phase Control or Status, Phase Parameter, Unit Control, or an Equipment System tag.
If the tag is a Phase Control/Status, Unit Control, or Equipment System tag, the Foxboro DCS PARAMETER is retrieved from the Tag Map file. If the tag is a Phase Parameter tag, the Foxboro DCS Linker automatically increments the Foxboro DCS PARAMETER value and assigns it to Foxboro DCS Parameters based on the following rules.
|
Tag Type |
Mapped To |
|---|---|
|
Analog |
Foxboro DCS Real input parameters |
|
Discrete |
Foxboro DCS Boolean input parameter |
|
String |
Foxboro DCS String input parameters |
|
Enumeration |
Foxboro DCS Integer input parameters |
The tag used for a parameter must have a phase name for automatic generation to function properly.
When a duplicate Foxboro DCS parameter assignment is identified, Foxboro DCS Linker ignores the parameter and continues until it finds an unused parameter.
