Before upgrading, please take note of the known issues in the Installation Issues section of this document.
Note: Prior to upgrading, confirm that your Hist Queue and Error Queue are empty. Because of changes to the AVEVA Batch Management History database, any data left in the Hist Queue or Error Queue will not be accessible in the upgraded version. Also, ensure that all batches have ended and that all warm restart files have been deleted.

Starting with 11.5, AVEVA Batch Management History Server and Reporting Content no longer integrate with Information Server. These features are now available through Start Menu shortcuts. For more information, see the AVEVA Batch Management Installation Guide and AVEVA Batch Management User Guide.

While installing AVEVA Batch Management or upgrading to the latest version, you can select and install the Licensing components. For more information about Licensing, see the AVEVA Batch Management Installation Guide.

When Batch Management is upgraded or installed on System Platform 2017 Update 2 or earlier versions, ASB Service instances are not created for a new galaxy. Contact AVEVA Software Global Customer Support (GCS) for System Platform Hotfix.

Batch Management version 2023 R2 is bundled with AVEVA’s PCS version 8.1.2 and includes MicrosoftEdgeWebView2RuntimeInstaller version 116.0.1938.76. AVEVA has not disabled Microsoft Defender SmartScreen in this release.
The Microsoft Defender SmartScreen feature collects and transmits user information to Microsoft, as detailed in Microsoft’s Privacy Statement and Microsoft Edge Privacy Whitepaper.
For additional details, refer to Microsoft documentation on Data and Privacy in WebView2. Customers can disable the Microsoft Defender SmartScreen feature during the installation of AVEVA Batch Management. Instructions for disabling this feature are available in the Microsoft support documentation.
