Client disconnect messages

PI Network Manager (pinetmgr) writes messages to the PI message log that track communications between various applications and the Data Archive server.

Every few minutes, pinetmgr sends a health-check message to each of the PI subsystems. If one doesn't respond within a given amount of time, pinetmgr reports the following message and the subsystem (RPC resolver) is marked offline.

>> Deleting connection: pisnapss, Subsystem Healthcheck failed.

The following example show messages from pinetmgr indicating a PI-SDK application (AboutPI-SDK.exe) is disconnecting from the Data Archive server:

I 03-Aug-10 06:47:21 pinetmgr (7096)
>> Deleting connection: AboutPI-SDK.exe(7196), Shutdown request received from

The following example show messages from pinetmgr indicating a PI-API application (Random Interface) is disconnecting from the Data Archive server:

>> Deleting connection: RandE, A request to abort a connection was received.

Sometimes when applications exit without properly terminating their connection to the Data Archive server, pinetmgr can report the following:

I 03-Aug-10 10:25:23 pinetmgr (7121)
>> Deleting connection: RandE, Asynch read failed. [64] The specified network
name is no longer available., ID: 43 ::1:53559
