Configure Data Archive tables using piconfig

The piconfig utility is modal and interactive. It allows you to maintain and configure Data Archive databases and tables, such as the PI point database and the digital state table.

With the piconfig utility, you can work interactively or you can supply text files that contain commands and data. Use the piconfig utility to configure point information in a worksheet or database tool, export it to a text file, then apply it to the PI point database.

You can also use the piconfig utility for troubleshooting. For example, if you suspect that you have some tags that are not configured correctly, you can search for tags that match a certain list of attributes.

You can use the piconfig utility only when Data Archive is running.
