You use two tools to work with objects and data in PI AF: PI System Explorer and PI Builder.

PI System Explorer provides a graphical user interface for PI AF. PI System Explorer is especially useful for creating templates and data references. PI System Explorer is installed when you install PI Server 2010, or later. You can also download it separately from the Customer Portal. Open PI System Explorer from the Start menu, under the PI System folder.

PI Builder is a Microsoft Excel plug-in for working with objects in bulk.
