Configuration persistence

Table specifications remain in effect until the next table command. Mode specifications remain in effect until the next mode command.

For all structure formats, the structure specifications remain in effect until a table is changed. New structure specifications are added to previous specifications until they are used to process data. After this, new specifications overwrite previous ones. Select and modify specifications behave similarly. These two commands are also cleared on mode and table changes.
